DAVID RALITA
David Ralita is a photographer whose work spans an international commercial career and an ongoing personal practice.
From 2008 to 2022, he built and ran DR – David Ralita Photography, working internationally across hospitality, architecture and interiors, food, corporate photography, editorial and portraiture. During this period he completed more than 250 commissioned assignments across over 40 countries, working with hotels, hospitality groups, architects, designers, chefs, marketing teams and international brands.
His hospitality work included long-term and repeat relationships with companies such as Meliá Hotels International, Gran Meliá, ME by Meliá, Leading Hotels of the World, Design Hotels, Derby Hotels, Hotusa, Eurostars, Abba Hotels, among others.
Beyond hospitality groups, David also worked with corporate clients, marketing and advertising agencies, high-end restaurants, private clients and a Michelin-starred chef, across assignments ranging from architecture and interiors to gastronomy, portraiture, editorial and branded content.
Many assignments involved complex multi-day productions covering architecture, interiors, food and beverage, guest experience, people and brand storytelling. Beyond photography itself, David was responsible for the full commercial and production process: client development, proposals, budgeting, negotiation, planning, creative direction, production teams and final delivery.
His photographs have appeared in Condé Nast Traveler, Elle Decoration, Esquire and many other publications, as well as in brand campaigns, hotel websites, OTAs, brochures, advertising, PR, trade-show materials, large-format displays and hotel interiors.
PERSONAL WORK
Alongside his commissioned work, David has maintained an independent photographic practice concerned with place, memory, absence, architecture and the traces people leave behind.
Earlier personal projects explored abstraction, symmetry, movement, landscape and altered perception. His current work has moved increasingly toward black-and-white photography and a more restrained visual language, particularly around urban edges, industrial environments and transitional spaces.
Rather than documenting places literally, the work often approaches them as fragments of memory: familiar but incomplete, observed but not fully explained.
David currently lives and works in Prague.
